Charity Gifts Hospital Chairs to Bristol Heart Institute

Bristol based charity Big Hearted Valentine’s Ball (BHVB) has gifted two Prospec Hospital chairs to Bristol Heart Institute. Intended to go straight to use in the Bristol Heart Institute acute care wards, the hospital chairs charity were provided to an eagerly awaiting nursing team.

Bristol Heart Institute

The Bristol Heart Institute (BHI) provides a dedicated service for people with heart conditions across Bristol and the Southwest. Part of the larger University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, the BHI is located in a patient centred building that is landscaped into the leafy hillside of the area. The BHVB aims to supply this community facing hospital with suitable, modern equipment that is able to more effectively address patient needs.

The funds raised from the most recently held BHVB in Bath’s Apex Hotel were earmarked to provide equipment to units at Bristol Heart Institute. After surveying the BHI’s needs of, the Prospec Hospital Chair was identified as the ideal solution to existing needs in the acute care facility.

During the delivery of the chairs, charity was represented by well-known TV and Cruise Ship comedian Tank Sherman and Gerald & Tina Creed. A regular contributor to the charity’s work, Tank oversaw hosting duties for the most recent Big Hearted Valentine’s Ball along with raising money in the charity auction.

Prospec Hospital Chair

The Prospec hospital chairs were identified to serve the needs of this specialist service because of their suitability for acute care settings and range of adjustability options that allow it to be effectively serve the needs of most patients. A durable piece of equipment, the versatile wheeled Prospec hospital chair has been designed for a range of uses in acute care settings.

The ProSpec hospital chair was created with the intention of being as simple as possible so hospital staff and patients could make the most of the chair with ease.
To do this, the creation & development of the Prospec Hospital Chair was done in collaboration with:
– Therapists & Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs)
– Aintree University Hospitals Trust
– The Royal Victoria Infirmary

This process allowed specialists with real world experience to have input into the design stages, adding feedback to ensure that the finished Prospec would be able to deliver for both hospital staff and patients alike. With input & feedback from specialist professionals in every stage of the creation, the Prospec has been tailored to meet all the pressing needs of patients in acute care settings.
